In Key Stage 1 we go through the basics of why our teeth are important. We learn about what causes tooth decay. We then learn how to care for our teeth with brushing and a balanced diet. Finally we touch upon the importance of seeing a dentist.

In the Key Stage 2 syllabus we learn about the different types of teeth and what they are made of. We learn about how different animals teeth vary depending on what they eat. We learn about tooth decay and the consequences of decay. We then learn about how to protect ourselves against tooth decay with toothbrushing, toothpaste, a balanced diet and visiting the dentist.

In Key Stage 3 we cover the basics about our teeth, what they are made of and how they change as we grow up. We learn about tooth decay and how we can prevent it with good brushing and toothpaste. We learn the importance of fluoride in toothpaste as well as a healthy diet. Finally we learn a bit more about how the dentist can help us to protect our teeth.
